FCCA, BSc (Econ) Hons
Mark studied Accounting and Computer Science at Aberystwyth University between 1985-1988. He completed his professional training in London working extensively as an Auditor in the corporate sector. He returned to Aberystwyth in 1996 and initially joined the firm as Practice Manager before becoming a partner the following year. He is a strong advocate of professional training and played an active role in DLB obtaining Platinum Standard Accreditation Status for student and CPD (continuing professional development) training. Mark has a wealth of experience working with a wide range of clients across many different sectors, including sole traders, partnerships and Limited Companies. He has dealt with many family-owned businesses over the years and advised on formation, expansion and exit route strategies. Mark also believes in embracing new technology and has encouraged the use of IT and cloud-based software both within the practice and for clients, where he remains hands-on throughout the process. He is a qualified Senior Statutory Auditor and has experience in auditing companies, charities, solicitors and estate agents. He has also been engaged to complete forensic accounting assignments.
Outside of the office Mark enjoys acting as an extra in TV dramas (although the phone has not rung since Hinterland!), supporting his home team of West Ham United, listening to rock music, spending time with his family and walking the dog.
CTA, FCCA, BA (Hons)
Dan first joined the firm in 1998 as part of his secondary school work experience, and then returning during the summer vacations whilst completing his A levels and Accounting and Finance Degree. After a spell trading the financial markets in London, Dan returned back home to Aberdyfi and rejoined DLB in 2010. After working through his exams quickly he became a Chartered Tax Adviser as well as a Chartered Certified Accountant. Dan specialises in taxation of individuals, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, tax planning, estate planning, along with many other areas across various industry sectors.
Outside of work, Dan enjoys golf, running, spending time with his family, and following his beloved Aston Villa. Dan also coaches his local junior football team and holds a UEFA B-licence.
FCCA
Steph has been working in practice since 2005 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2019. She joined the practice in 2021. She is also currently working towards her CTA qualification.
She has extensive knowledge with accounting software and supports clients and staff to ensure the most efficient processes are followed with onsite training. We are able to ensure our clients continue to use the software they feel comfortable with and have the reassurance that we do to. The main software used includes, but is not limited to, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and Sage.
Her experience working with Sole traders, Partnerships and Limited companies in a variety of business sectors, gives her a good all-round knowledge to be able to help clients move over to new ways of bookkeeping but with the least amount of impact on their business.
She has extensive knowledge due to years of experience and is able to reassure clients and make sure whatever is agreed gets actioned.
She has dealt with HMRC on a variety of situations in the last 20+ years and is not shy to contact them to get any issues rectified or deal with any investigations.
Outside of work Steph enjoys photography and spending time with her husband renovating their home.
FCCA, Bsc Hons
After completing his degree in Mathematics at Cardiff University, Lucas passed the AAT exams before qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2018. Lucas worked locally in practice before joining the team in 2024. Based in the Aberystwyth office, Lucas specialises in corporate and personal taxation. He is currently working towards the CTA qualification.
In his spare time, Lucas enjoys playing squash and mountain biking.

Richard, a fluent Welsh speaker, graduated from Aberystwyth University with a degree in Accounting & Finance, and joined our team in 2008 as a Trainee Accountant. Richard qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2020 and now heads up our Farming Department. He also has a wealth of experience working with a wide range of clients across many different sectors, including sole traders, partnerships, family run businesses and Limited Companies.
Outside of work, Richard often spends time assisting on the family farm. He is also a keen darts and pool player, and enjoys representing his team in Aberystwyth’s local leagues.
Glenda is a fluent Welsh speaker, and has worked in the practice since 1990. A farmer’s daughter, she has extensive experience in preparing Farming accounts for sole traders and partnerships and has amassed a wealth of knowledge along the way. She also prepares Tax Returns for partnerships and individuals as well as quarterly VAT returns, including assisting clients with software-related issues clients may encounter.
Glenda supports Richard Evans in the farming department within the practice. Outside of work Glenda spends time with her family and friends. She enjoys watching football, especially Cymru and Nottingham Forest FC.
MAAT
Sophie has been at DLB since 1999, when she started the AAT qualification, and has been AAT qualified since 2003. She deals with a variety of clients, from companies to partnerships and sole trades, preparing accounts, tax returns, VAT returns and processing payroll. She has 9 years of experience working on Xero accounts software.
In her spare time, Sophie enjoys coffee and cake, crochet, and spending time with her cats (and family!).
MAAT
Anna has been with Davies Lewis Baker for 24 years. She is a qualified member of the Association of Accounting Technicians. Working from home, Anna prepares trading accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies as well as completing book-keeping assignments.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys walks with the family dog and planning the family holidays including visiting new destinations both in the UK and abroad.
BSc, ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business
In addition to heading up our payroll bureau Tim prepares personal tax returns for individuals and accounts for sole traders, partnerships and small companies. He also has experience acting for solicitors and completing audit work in accordance with the SRA Accounts Rules.
Outside the office Tim enjoys playing and watching football, gaming and LEGO.
MSc, BSc (Hons)
Dani has been at Davies Lewis Baker since 2021. She holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance from Swansea University, as well as a Master’s degree in Strategic Accounting. She is currently completing her final ACCA exams. Her day-to-day role involves preparing accounts, VAT returns, and maintaining payroll for Sole traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies in a variety of business sectors.
Outside of work, Dani likes to stay active, playing various sports and serves on the committee of a local football club, and regional football league in her spare time.
MAAT, AATQB
Claire has worked in the practice since 1998, and became AAT qualified in 2007. She has extensive experience in preparing Accounts, Tax Returns and VAT returns for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies in various business sectors. Claire currently works part time while raising a family.
Outside of work Claire enjoys spending time with friends and family and likes to go for walks in the local countryside. Claire is also Treasurer for a local junior football club.
ACA, BA
Eleri joined DLB in 1999 and held the position of Accounts Manager until she retired from full-time employment. She has a wealth of experience in company and charity accounting. A fluent Welsh speaker she has been instrumental in preparing accounts and communications through the medium of Welsh.
BSc (Econ) Hons
Since joining in 2021- Michael has dealt with Company Accounts, Self-Assessment & Partnership Tax Returns, Payroll/CIS, VAT returns, and book-keeping. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics) degree in Accounting and Finance from Aberystwyth University and is currently working towards MAAT Level 4 accreditation. With prior practical experience in book-keeping and payroll at local businesses, he has a valuable insight into day-to-day business operations. As Practice Manager Michael is responsible for credit control so he is the person to speak to regarding any queries you may have regarding your account with Davies Lewis Baker. Originally from Norwich, he moved to Aberystwyth in 2010 to study at university, where he met his wife in 2013 when they both decided to stay in the area.
Outside of work, Michael has a passion for football and follows Norwich City FC with his son as often as he can. He also enjoys training the family’s border collie, Todd.
Molly has been a member of the Davies Lewis Baker team since 2021. She is Manager of our Tywyn Office and currently studying for the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification. As a friendly member of our small team in Tywyn, Molly can help you with any admin, PAYE or VAT queries you may have and is more than happy to point you in the right direction for further advice or assistance.
Originally from Manchester, Molly moved to Wales in 2021 to live with her partner on the family farm in Aberdyfi. Outside of work, Molly enjoys socialising with friends, online shopping and enjoying an Aperol Spritz in the sunshine!
BA (Bus)
Alex joined Davies Lewis Baker in October 2022 as a Junior Accountant. He graduated with a first-class bachelors degree in business and management. Alex can help with your day-to-day accounting tasks including bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and accounts preparation.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys mountain biking on local trails, exploring the outdoors, and staying active on the weekends.
Dawn joined Davies Lewis Baker in November 2024 as our Reception Administrator. She has a vital role to play in the smooth day-to-day operational running of the office. Her role is varied, encompassing everything from client communication to maintaining and organising essential records.
As the first point of contact for all clients, Dawn is often the friendly voice on the phone or the welcoming face at the door. She helps to make sure every client’s experience is straightforward and stress-free from start to finish.
Outside of work, Dawn loves spending time with her family, as well as enjoying paddle boarding, walking, and reading. She’s also the secretary for one of the local football teams.
